Love You to Death
Oil on Canvas 2005
30" x 36"

This is my annual “Dia de Los Muertos” painting. I try to do one every year to commemorate loved ones who have passed away. This painting has a romantic approach where I used stereotypical icons such as the single rose between the teeth, bow tie and pencil-thin mustache to represent a Don Juan character. The black hearts in the background indicate lost loves. It is death trying to seduce life.
